The England women secured a victory in the T20 series over the New Zealand women after a six-wicket success in Canterbury.
After winning the first two games, they won the best-of-five competition by a 3-0 margin after reaching the 142 goal.
The star was Alice Capsey, who scored an unbeaten 67 from 60 balls, while Freya Kemp did the rest with a series of late boundaries.
Spinner Sophie Ecclestone had previously caused damage with the ball, scoring 4-25 in her four overs.
England’s target would have been much lower had New Zealand captain Sophie Devine not scored an unbeaten 58 in the late innings with a number of hits.
Devine’s intervention was needed after England had kept the Ferns at bay after Lauren Filer dismissed Georgia Plimmer for a golden duck in the first over.
Openers Suzie Bates and Amelia Kerr repaired the damage with a score of 57, with Bates becoming Ecclestone’s first victim with 38 in 27 balls.
Ecclestone, Charlie Dean and Sarah Glenn kept the game close in the middle of the innings.
But Devine made the target competitive after some late hits, hitting seven fours and two sixes in her unbeaten 58.
England’s reaction began in the worst possible way, as Maia Boucher’s leg was trapped in front of the goal on the first ball, allowing Melbourne Stars player Capsey to hit the ball.
The No.3 scored 66 with Sophia Dunkley, who hit 35 off 26 before being bowled by Fran Jonas.
Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt also batted first, but Capsey’s half-century kept England on course.
It was still at stake with the hosts needing 17 off 12 balls, but Kemp hit three fours to secure victory by four balls.
Capsey, who plays for the Melbourne Stars in the WBBL, is enjoying her new position in the batting order and believes it is getting the best out of her.
In the post-match presentation, she said: “I love batting third in T20s. You get the best of both worlds, you get the powerplay and you get a bit of time in the middle as well.
“I really love hitting three-pointers, I think I understand my game well.
“At the end of the day, I just want to play for England, so I was happy to put in a performance today.”
