SailGP has announced a return to Sydney Harbour for a record sixth event as part of its 2024-25 season calendar.

The KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix Sydney will take place on February 8 and 9 as the third event in the league’s most extensive season to date, which includes 14 events on five continents.

The 12-month SailGP Season 5 will run from November, starting and finishing in the United Arab Emirates. There will be new events in Auckland, Brazil, Germany and Switzerland.

The Sydney event has become one of the most eagerly awaited events of the summer, attracting thousands of fans from all over the world.

Tom Slingsby, SailGP Australia Team Driver and CEO, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Sydney for season five. Winning on Sydney Harbour in season four in front of thousands of fans and our families was one of the highlights of our careers.

“There is nothing better than racing and winning in front of your home crowd and we can’t wait to bring that electrifying energy and excitement back to this legendary venue.
