Due to a security warning, King Charles and Queen Camilla’s trip to the Channel Island of Jersey was briefly interrupted, but the royal couple was able to continue their visit shortly afterwards.
The royals were visiting the Jersey Expo when they were pulled away by royal staff after a minor, concerning issue arose.
The footage showed a member of the royal entourage speaking to Camilla and gently guiding her away as she continued eating an ice cream.
It quickly became apparent that this was a false alarm and the event programme continued on Monday after a short break.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
The PA news agency reported that a member of the monarch’s visiting team expressed concern and that an investigation found it was a false alarm.
A full background check was conducted and the program continued.
The incident occurred two days after an assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump at a campaign rally.
