The steady decline in mental health among young Australians coincides with the introduction and growth of Instagram and Snapchat in the 2010s, according to a new study.

The e61 Institute study found that the average self-reported mental health score of women aged 15 to 24 fell by 11 percent, from 73 percent to 62 percent, between 2011 and 2022.
