World News Netherlands families mark 10 years since MH17 tragedy Blog

Relatives of passengers and crew killed when Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down over Ukraine have gathered in Australia and the Netherlands to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that killed 298 people, more than half of them Dutch.

Hundreds of family members – who were to read out the names of all the victims – gathered on Wednesday together with the Dutch king, politicians and diplomats at a memorial in the Netherlands near Schiphol, the airport from which the Boeing 777 took off for Kuala Lumpur on July 17, 2014.
