Australian Stephanie Kyriacou will go into the final round of the Evian Championship with a one-stroke lead and will be aiming for her first major title.
Kyriacou made a birdie on the last shot in her third round of four under par (67) to finish Saturday at 14 under par, ahead of American Lauren Coughlin and Japanese Ayaka Furue. Thailand’s Pajaree Anannarukarn was three strokes behind at 10 under par.
The 23-year-old Sydneysider is in pole position after a spectacular third round with seven birdies and three bogeys and has a total score of 199 for the three rounds.
She opened her round with a bogey, followed by birdies on the next three holes.
Coughlin holed her 65 from 25 feet for an eagle on the ninth and from 18 feet for another on the 18th, while halfway leader Furue could only add a 70 to her previous consecutive rounds of 65.
Three other contenders are five strokes behind and are nine under par. The group consists of Ally Ewing, who shot a 64 on Saturday, South Korean Hye-Jin Choi (71) and Thailand’s Patty Tavatanakit, who dropped from second to fifth place with a 72.
Scotland’s Gemma Dryburgh, who led after her opening 64, completed the final nine holes of her delayed second round on Saturday morning one stroke over par to shoot a 71. She added another 71 in the third round to stay at seven under par.
