Isabel Bradbury was one of the first women to respond to ambulance calls, sometimes having to respond to fatal accidents, always difficult in rural communities where the victims are well known.
As well as being an activist in the emergency services, she was a meticulous recorder of the history of the Katanning St John Sub Centre and was responsible for most of the memorabilia kept which, according to current long-serving chair Barbara Groves, was the envy of those at head office and other sub centres.
