Four-time NBA All-Star guard Kemba Walker announces his retirement.

Walker, 34, did not play in the NBA last season but played in the EuroLeague for AS Monaco. He announced his decision on social media on Tuesday.

“This was all a dream,” Walker said in a post on X. “When I look back, I still can’t believe what I’ve accomplished in my career.”

Walker averaged 19.3 points in 750 career regular season games with the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets (2011-19), Boston Celtics (2019-21), New York Knicks (2021-22) and Dallas Mavericks (2023).

From 2017 to 2020, he participated in the All-Star Game four times in a row and was selected to the All-NBA third team in the 2018/19 season, his final year in Charlotte.

He previously had an outstanding college career at UConn, which he led to the national title in 2011 and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four that same year.

Walker said: “I know I couldn’t have made it this far without the incredible support system around me.

“There are so many people I have to thank: my mom, my dad and my whole family, my teammates who have become my family, and the coaches who believed in me and brought out the best in me. Basketball will be a part of my life forever, so this is not goodbye. I’m excited to see what’s next.”
