Former Wallabies playmaker Carter Gordon has trained with Gold Coast for the first time after signing for the remainder of the season.

Titans coach Des Hasler confirmed to AAP on Wednesday that the 23-year-old is outside the top 30 but has signed an NRL contract.

Gordon was released from his contract with the Wallabies for the remainder of 2024, having previously signed a two-year deal with Gold Coast for 2025 and 2026.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Hasler said he was pleased that Gordon had “begun his integration” into the NRL.

“He trained with us this morning and started his development and training,” said Hasler.

Hasler said the former Melbourne Rebels number 10 may play in the Queensland Cup this year.

“We are not in a hurry. There is no need to be,” he said.

“We’ll let him settle in and then see what happens next.”
