Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance took the stage at the Republican National Convention and seemed overwhelmed by the enthusiastic support of the crowd.
“Greetings, Milwaukee. My fellow Americans and Republicans. My name is JD Vance and I hail from the great state of Ohio,” said Senator Vance.
Chants of “JD, JD, JD” dominated the audio broadcast as Republicans celebrated their candidate for vice president.
“My friends, tonight is a night of hope,” said Senator Vance.
“A celebration of what America once was and, with God’s grace, what it will soon be again.”
“It is a reminder of our sacred duty to preserve the American experiment and choose a new path for our children and grandchildren.
“But as we meet tonight, we must not forget that this evening could have been so much different.
“Instead of a holiday, this could have been a day of sorrow and sadness.
“For the past eight years, President Trump has given everything he had to fight for the people of our country.
“I want every American to watch the video of a would-be assassin who narrowly escaped his life. I want them to think about the lies they have been told about Donald Trump, and then look at the photo of Donald Trump standing defiantly on the field in Pennsylvania with his fist raised.”
“Even in his most dangerous moments, we (Americans) were on his mind.
“His instinct was to call us, our country, to something higher, to something greater,” Vance said to thunderous applause.
