Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault dominated the Colts Country Championships squad in the Southwest, accounting for nine of the 28 players selected.
The Lions top the South West Football League Colts ladder and are yet to lose a game this season. They have the most representatives in the squad, ahead of Bunbury (six), with the two clubs together accounting for more than half of the squad.
Busselton, Collie, Carey Park, Dunsborough and South Bunbury each contributed two players, while Donnybrook, Eaton and Harvey Bulls contributed one player. Augusta-Margaret River is the only club without a representative.
A number of Lions, including Seann Arrowsmith, John Manuel, Blake Soulos and Fraser Ward, have been on the club’s third-place team so far this season.
Meanwhile, Riley Stenhouse, who has split his time between league, Colts and WAFL Colts this season, is the only Bulldog on the team to have played at the highest level.
Dunsborough’s two representatives, Matthew Burgess and Jake Green, have made solid contributions for the Sharks at league level and the pair have scored 30 goals between them so far this season.
The South West will be looking to defend their championship title, which they won last year with a thrilling one-point victory over Great Northern, ending a three-year drought without a carnival win.
