When Garry the silverback gorilla disappeared from a Victorian retirement home, investigators knew they would not tolerate such “affairs.”
After the popular primate was abducted from the township of St Helena in Melbourne’s northeast last month, an investigation was immediately launched into the whereabouts of the 1.5-metre-high gorilla statue.
After extensive investigations into Garry’s disappearance, police zeroed in on a property in Reservoir and then called the Air Wing to conduct a flyover of the property.
Police confirmed that the “pilots went completely crazy” when they discovered the gorilla Garry between two garages.
Police rushed to Garry’s rescue and executed a search warrant on Monday.
Garry was carefully carried off the property by two officers and will return to his natural habitat on Wednesday.
The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
