World News 2025 Smart #1 and #3: Electric SUVs priced for Australia Blog

Smart’s Australian distributor has set local pricing and specifications for the brand’s return and announced details of the two electric models.

LSH Auto, Australia’s largest Mercedes-Benz dealer, will sell the Smart No. 1 and No. 3 from September in stores in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, offering three variants of the electric SUV in each.

Both the Smart No. 1 and the Smart No. 3 are sold in three versions: Pro+, Premium and Brabus.

Although the Smart No. 3 is slightly larger than the Smart No. 1 – it measures 4.4 m compared to its 4.27 m long sibling – both models have the same electric drive.

The Smarts’ drivetrain and platform are also identical to those of the Volvo EX30, but the latter offers a longer range at a slightly higher price – the difference is between $390 and $7390.

Details on Australian features are limited, but LSH Auto has confirmed that both models will feature the following equipment:

The Smart #1 Pro+ and the Smart #3 Pro+ are equipped as standard with:

  • 19-inch wheels
  • LED headlights
  • Panoramic roof
  • 12.8-inch infotainment screen
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Electric tailgate
  • Intelligent pilot assistant
  • 7.4 kW AC charging
  • 130 kW DC charging

The Smart #1 Premium and Smart #3 Premium variants also offer:

  • Matrix LED headlights
  • Leather upholstery
  • Beats 640W sound system
  • Heat pump
  • Automatic parking assistant
  • 10-inch head-up display
  • 22 kW AC charging
  • 150 kW DC charging

The Smart No. 1 Brabus and Smart No. 3 Brabus classes receive the following gains:

  • 20-inch wheels (Smart No. 3 only)
  • Unique Brabus exterior design
  • Brabus driving mode
  • Sports seats
  • Microfiber suede upholstery

LSH Auto will announce further details of the Smart range closer to the local launch in September 2024.
