If you've been keeping up with what Microsoft is planning to do with Windows 11, you know that the company is trying to add a new “Account Manager” feature to the Start menu.
When you click on your profile picture in the Start menu, Microsoft will show you information about your account as well as information about Microsoft 365. If you don't have a subscription, Microsoft will offer you one. If so, you can manage your subscription from there.
Microsoft makes the Account Manager a little more user-friendly
There was a problem, though. Currently, if you click on your profile picture in the Start menu, you get some handy options that allow you to sign out of your account. This is really handy if you have multiple users on the same computer. Account Manager messed things up by relegating these options to a three-dot menu on the side, which wasn't great for usability. Thankfully, Microsoft came to its senses and added a dedicated sign out option to Account Manager.
Discovered byNeowinMicrosoft seems to have finally come to its senses with its new Account Manager window. Now, when you click on your profile picture, the Account Manager will still appear, but with a handy link to log out without having to go into other menus.
Unfortunately, Microsoft 365's product details are still there, serving as a small advertisement for the Redmond giant's services. And even Windows 10 users haven't been spared, with Account Manager making its way into the older operating system. If you use Microsoft 365 products, this should be a quick and easy way to see what products you have and change any active subscriptions. Otherwise, I imagine people prefer the previous options Microsoft gave them – they just felt much more convenient.
