- 58th Warframe, Koumei will be released in this update
- A new mission type called Shrine Defense will also be added
- Updates released on October 2nd
After a teaser at Gamescom last month, we finally have more news on Warframe's highly anticipated Koumei & the Five Fates update. Fresh off the Tokyo Game Show, Digital Extremes has announced that the next patch will introduce Koumei, the Dice Maiden, as the 58th Warframe. You can also expect the release of a new mission type and several QoL improvements.
Warframe's latest character, Koumei, is a powerful fighter with RNG-inspired abilities. There is an element of unpredictability as his abilities revolve around a six-sided die.
You'll be able to deploy traps, predict the future for power-ups, and summon protective spells that can randomly convert damage into extra health or shields. His ultimate ability, Bunraku, allows you to take control of enemies and manipulate their status like puppets.
Then there's the new mission type, Shrine Defense, where the focus is a settlement under siege by infested enemies. You'll repel invaders, collect offerings at the shrine, and face a new mini-boss called the Infested Oni.
Completing this mission also gives you the chance to collect crafting parts for Koumei and unlock his two signature weapons, an umbrella called the Higasa and a polearm called the Amanata.
Apart from this, numerous new improvements will be added to improve the player's experience. Soon you'll find a more refined companion system and a rework for Caliban, which will make him more versatile.
