We'll crown the winners on December 6th at a huge event in sunny London
2024 has been a pretty interesting year for “voting,” but I hope you still have some of the old voting juice (ew) left in you because the voting phase of the 2024 Pocket Gamer Awards has now officially begun.
That's right, after a surprising number of nominations received (right up until the last moment) and after a few hours of work slumped over our keyboards with a cup of coffee in hand, we have prepared the shortlist for each of the twenty categories.
As always, we have classics like “Best Mobile Publisher” and “Best Mobile Developer,” but stalwarts like “Mobile Game of the Year” are now joined by revised genre lists and an incredibly exciting “Most Anticipated Game” award.
There are also a couple of other evergreen prizes to celebrate mobile gaming's incredibly long tail (basically a snake: where does a snake's tail begin, biologists?). For example, the essential award for the best game we're still playing has the best community and the best mobile eSports game as bedfellows.
Voting will continue until the end of November, at which point we'll count them, take a long-overdue nap, and then prepare to reveal the winners at a live event on December 6th in London, UK.
In any case, contain yourself. If there is something more exciting than reading the names of the awards, it is definitely going to vote for them. You can do it right now… Or, you can also read on to learn about some of the nominees for the biggest award of all: Mobile Game of the Year.
Dann, can you tell me about the Mobile Game of the Year nominees?
I definitely can.
This year is actually an absolutely amazing year, with some truly fantastic games up for grabs. We have everything from “I Was Just Chopping Onions, I Promise” to the emotional narrative story The Wreck to “Is That Patriot Making Ads?” Last War, with stops at Supercell's latest success, Squad Busters, the phenomenal successor to AFK Arena's Lilith, AFK Journey, as well as games that have fascinated our team such as Caves of Lore, Wildfrost, Zenless Zone Zero and Wuthering Waves.. .
As with all mobile games, there is a lot to choose from. Luckily for us at Pocket Gamer this isn't our job (this time), it's yours.
Check out the full list below, giving them a click if you're interested in learning more, or head over to our Pocket Gamer Awards voting hub to start supporting the games that have filled your phone and your screen times inactivity.
Can I have the link to the voting page again? I missed it the first few times.
Of course you can.
