Total War: Empire is coming to iOS and Android this fall courtesy of Feral Interactive

  • Total War: Empire is coming to mobile devices, once again thanks to Feral Interactive
  • Confront the colonial powers, or become one, in a grand campaign spanning three theaters.
  • Fight on the high seas or on land as naval combat is introduced in this classic installment.

Feral Interactive is once again tackling one of Creative Assembly’s long-running Total War titles, with Total War: Empire set on mobile this fall. The 18th century strategy game takes players through many of the formative years of the colonial era, including the American Revolution, the British invasion of India, and beyond, as they crumble and give way to new ideas.

In typical Total War style, you will compete with other nations on both a turn-based strategy map and in real-time battles. Whether settling old grudges in continental Europe, deciding who will conquer America, and establishing or resisting colonial expansion in the East, Total War: Empire promises grand battles and strategic maneuvering in equal measure.

And that's without even mentioning the addition of an expanding campaign tree that will take you from the heyday of spear-and-shooting all the way to the line infantry tactics of the Napoleonic era. Or, better yet, the first introduction of naval combat to the Total War series.

I am

An even more all-encompassing war

And no, you’re not going crazy, this game was called Empire: Total War. But naming issues aside, Total War: Empire is a game that has slowly been reclaimed by time, or so some would say. I remember when this game was widely considered the low point of the series, but Feral Interactive is promising to bring a completely new and refined version to mobile, allowing you to enjoy the gunpowder combat.
