Before the update that removed codes altogether, you could redeem codes the same way you could do anything in the game. You had to type the “/redeem” function followed by the code in the chat. Now that's no longer an option and if you want something, you can always trade it with other players or ask your friends to send it to you. If you play with friends, of course. Otherwise, maybe it's time to make some new ones.
