As much as I love following what the Raspberry Pi community is doing, sometimes they achieve something that amazes even me. If you're looking for a project that really shows what a Pi can do, then this amazing project by Miroslav Kotalík is for you. They put the Pi to good use by developing their own AR glasses that they use to run web apps.

The Raspberry Pi 5 is one of the most powerful consumer SBCs on the market. Unfortunately, due to limited inventory, it will be difficult to find one.
A genius inventor builds his own AR glasses with a Raspberry Pi
As posted on the Raspberry Pi subreddit, Miroslav introduced the project they are currently working on. It's a fully integrated AR glasses that can run web apps and it looks really impressive.
Currently, Miroslav says the AR headset can “play videos, display images, play music via Bluetooth headphones, and display text,” which is very impressive for a DIY Raspberry Pi project. However, since they use a Pi Zero, it isn't powerful enough to handle sites like YouTube and Twitter. Therefore, they hope to update the chip in the future so that it can handle more demanding apps.
Regardless, this is a great project and we hope Miroslav finds the perfect mix of performance and portability. If you'd like to see more about what he's doing with this project, he hasn't published any technical guides yet, but says he'd like to do so in the future. In the meantime, he suggests you keep an eye on his X feed to stay updated on all his progress. Maybe it even has what it takes to be a decent DIY competitor to the Apple Vision Pro.
