When it comes to creating and solving puzzles, they’re pretty much the same thing. After all, you have to understand the psychology of someone trying to solve a puzzle to know how to create one that’s fun, not just frustrating. But how do you learn these skills? Well, it might be a little less magical in real life than what you experience in The Puzzle Maker: Cebba’s Odyssey.

The Puzzle Maker: Cebba's Odyssey puts you in the shoes of one of the titular puzzle maker's apprentices. While she's been searching for a successor for years, Cebba's increasingly challenging trials have alienated everyone except you. You'll have to tackle her best creations while trying to figure out exactly why she seems to push others away.

The main gameplay of Cebba's Odyssey, unsurprisingly, revolves around the puzzles it creates. You'll be presented with a 14×14 grid populated by heroes, monsters, obstacles, traps, and more. Your task is to use the single move each hero has available to solve the puzzle and complete the level.

Cebba's Odyssey will feature over 200 levels at launch, with a Creator Mode that lets you play through levels created by other players, or if you're feeling creative, design your own. It's due to hit Steam this September, with a mobile release planned for 2025, so watch this space!
