A while ago, in early 2024, we saw Nvidia release a new app intended to replace GeForce Experience. It took on the creative name “Nvidia App,” even though that wasn’t what we expected. We knew that Nvidia wanted to eventually replace GeForce Experience with the Nvidia app, but now we have a firm date for when you can expect your app to be updated.

As announced on the GeForce blog, the company has a lot of cool things to add to the Nvidia app. However, hidden at the bottom is this little nugget of information:

Additionally, we intend to migrate all remaining GeForce Experience users to the new NVIDIA app when it leaves beta before the end of the year.

This will likely come in the form of an update to the GeForce Experience app that will automatically update it to the Nvidia app. So don't be too surprised if your GeForce experience seems to change overnight.

Nvidia is adding more features to the Nvidia app

The G Sync feature of the Nvidia app

Of course, Nvidia didn't just create a blog post to make a one-line announcement. There's a lot of information about what you can expect from the Nvidia app beta starting today.

With the update, you can now customize your G-Sync, even if it isn't fully developed yet. Nvidia said it will add “surround options, custom resolutions and multi-monitor setup” inherited from the Nvidia Control Panel in future patches.

The app also brings RTX HDR to multiple monitors. RTX HDR allows you to take advantage of HDR monitors if the game you play doesn't support the technology. Now if you have multiple HDR displays, you can enable RTX HDR on all of them.

The update also introduces some optimizations based on user feedback. For example, you can now change the font color on the heads-up display, which has a positive impact on accessibility. Additionally, as you browse the optimal settings for your games, the app remembers your filters and the order between boots.
