- The addition of powers gives your roster of famous Sonic faces plenty of options to play with.
- There's also the addition of new soundtracks from across the Sonic franchise to unlock.
Apple Arcade exclusive Sonic Dream Team is getting a major update that adds new mechanics, changes to Tails Challenge mode, and even more soundtracks from the series' history to enjoy. What can you expect? Well, let's dig in and find out!
First up, the main addition here is Power Ups. These are new limited abilities that you can equip to use throughout the game. They include Stomp, Super Glide, Wall Boost, and more, all unlocked by playing Tails Challenges. Speaking of which, the challenges themselves are getting an overhaul with the addition of new Score Attack levels to enjoy.
As for more miscellaneous additions, there are new soundtracks from the Sonic the Hedgehog series that you can unlock by playing Tails Challenges and enjoy in-game. The Challenges themselves will also refresh daily, allowing you to earn everything up to the coveted S rank for even more XP and rewards.
We have to go fast!
I think the only criticism I could level at Sonic Dream Team is that it’s locked to the Apple Arcade service. That’s not to say it’s a limited or all-around bad library, by any means. But it does limit the potential audience at a time when Sonic has branched out into mobile with appearances on Roblox and new games in the works thanks to Sega’s acquisition of Angry Birds developer Rovio. Hopefully we’ll see more Android hits in the future.
