- Miniclip has released its latest sports-based game, Soccer Hero
- Promising a mix of arcade card collecting and strategic depth, it's now available on iOS and Android
- Soccer Hero also features dynamic stadiums and card synergies for even more challenging gameplay.
The most popular Flash game site, mobile developer Miniclip, has released its newest sports game. This time fans of the beautiful game will be happy, as they will take on football with the new Soccer Hero for iOS and Android. It promises to be easy to start and play, but does it deliver on its promises? Let's find out!
Gameplay-wise, Soccer Hero is exactly what you would expect from the usual Miniclip sports games. You get a relatively simple, arcade mix of strategy and simulation where you pit players with different stats against each other, planning your moves before you see them play out.
While it won't satisfy simulation fanatics, Soccer Hero promises to offer a little more depth than other more gamified soccer titles. You'll be able to create your own team of original players and compete in PvP matches, collecting cards and combining them to create powerful synergies.
Cut out out
I find that Miniclip tends to follow its flash game route, having games that are easy to pick up and definitely have some depth. I imagine Soccer Hero will appeal to more casual fans, looking for a quality arcade experience. But at the same time, I can't see Soccer Hero capturing the broader audience of soccer fans who want both in-depth stats and real player faces or real teams.
