ShiShi: Timeless Prelude is an ultra-cozy roguelike dungeon crawler coming to mobile devices

  • ShiShi: Timeless Prelude is the latest game to make the leap from consoles to mobile devices
  • An ultra-cozy and stylized dungeon crawler, you will guide the sorceress Elia to complete her training as an oracle
  • Built with accessibility and replayability at its core

It’s that time of day again when we look back at games that have made the leap to mobile. And today I’m happy to announce that the former console exclusive Shishi: Timeless Prelude will soon be coming to mobile devices in Q4 2024.

In Shishi, you play as Elijah, a sorceress training to become an Oracle. However, it’s not as easy as taking a written exam to become an Oracle. You’ll need to take Elijah deep into the sanctuary of roguelike ruins to defeat enemies and complete her training.

When ShiShi calls itself ultra-cozy, you know it means it. Your cute anime girls in this case aren’t even anthropomorphic, but actual bowling balls. You couldn’t be more cozy if it weren’t for a fishing minigame and farming elements. However, for those of you looking for a retro RPG that will keep you coming back for more, maybe ShiShi is the game for you.

It’s worth noting that pretty much everything about ShiShi is very intentional. This is not an amateur project, and designer Frédéric McNamara (himself suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy) has put a lot of work into improving the accessibility of the games. ShiShi promises to be accessible and fun for everyone, from hardcore gamers to family members and young children.
