■ Battle

◆ Learning New Techniques through the Glimmer System

Players can check which character classes can learn which techniques via the glow chart. Different character classes have different affinities for learning techniques. Any techniques that have not yet been learned appear as question marks, while techniques that cannot be learned due to the character's class not being able to handle them are marked with a diagonal slash.

-Vacuum Slash can be seen from Whirlwind.

-Rock Splitter can be seen from Twinstrike.

◆ New Spells and Formations

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven introduces new spells and combinations not found in the original game. Some examples include:

Spells

-Water explosion

The magic of hydrology. Throw a splash of water at the enemy. Upgradeable to Water Blast II, which attacks multiple enemies in a straight line and lowers their physical defenses.

– To pulverize

Terrological magic. Show a floating rock and smash it into the enemy.

Formations

– Gear attack

Can be learned when a Mercenary Emperor is appointed. The most advanced unit has increased physical attack power, but enemies are also becoming easier to target.

-Volcanic Heart

Salamander can be learned when appointed emperor. All units receive a significant boost in both attack power and magical defense against pyrology spells.

■ Systems

◆ Development: Incantations Lab

Spells learned through the glow system will be registered in the Lab of Incantations, where they can be taught to other characters with a high enough level in their respective school of magic (element).

Players can also create powerful “synthesized” spells that combine two different elements by finding Old Books hidden in dungeons and over the land.

◆ Development: Imperial University

Imperial University allows players to take imperial exams, testing their knowledge of various subjects. Passing these exams can reward crafting materials and crowns (in-universe currency).

Players can also visit the Imperial University Odeum to listen to both the original and updated arrangements of the game's soundtrack.

◆ Development: Avalon Gardens

Once developed, Avalon Gardens will promote more tourism to the capital, increasing the empire's revenue (expressed by the amount of crowns obtained from winning encounters). As you win more battles, the gardens will grow more lush, and the income increases as they are won.

◆ Empire

This feature allows players to check out the overall weaponry of the Empire and admire the school levels. As weapons and spells are used in battle and leveled up, the overall position will increase. As the overall state of the empire increases, so does the base level and strength of new official members recruited from the taverns. The Imperial Standing screen also displays enemy strength, current imperial income, and overall battle records.

◆ Imperial Chronicles

Imperial Chronicles allows players to see a record of everything they've done so far in the story, as well as possible next goals (ie current and completed quests). Selecting a task currently in progress will mark it on the world map and field, guiding the player where to go next.

Mr S Finder

Mr. S is a familiar face to every SaGa fan, and he has a habit of turning up in all sorts of strange places around the world, from cities to dungeons. Every time Mr. S is found, he rewards the player with a sticker. Collecting stickers unlocks all kinds of benefits after each winning encounter, such as increasing the amount of income earned, reducing the time spent building new objects, or revealing the location of undiscovered treasure chests.

■ Freeform Script

◆ Freeform Scenario: Shipwreck

One day, Toba, a small port town in South Longit, was hit by a violent storm that left no trace. The storm deprived local residents of fishing. A diver from the city informs the Emperor that a pirate named Garon is shipwrecked somewhere in the middle of the South Longit Sea after being attacked by the Narwhal, Lord of the Seas. Garon still haunts the region, and it is believed that his spirit is the cause of the storm.

-Players can travel underwater with the help of either fishermen or a witch, and it's up to them who they turn to for help.

– Ask fishermen for help.

OR

– Ask the witch for help.

We ask for help from fishermen

If the player makes peace with the Narwhal after destroying one of the Empire's bridges, a messenger from the mermaids will give the player a mermaid potion.

Using the mermaid potion allows the player to reach the sunken ship. Garon, the ghostly pirate who summons the storm, awaits his companions in its depths.

Asking a witch for help

If the player is looking for a witch, they will have to go on a quest that requires getting help from various races and then handing over the necessary materials. Upon completion, the witch will reward the player with a potion.

Using the mermaid potion allows the player to reach the sunken ship. Garon, the ghostly pirate who summons the storm, awaits his companions in its depths.
