If the upcoming release of the second season of Arcane, the hit League of Legends spin-off series, hasn't got you excited yet, today's news may just make you a little more excited. Riot Games and Virgin Music Group have revealed the artist lineup for this upcoming sequel to the popular Netflix animated series, and it features some interesting names.
Arcane follows the stories of several iconic League of Legends champions from the twin cities of Zaun and Piltover. In a tragic twist, the series became a huge success and spawned a #1 hit single with Imagine Dragons’ “Enemy.”
In the second season, which is scheduled to release in November 2024, you’ll hear songs from artists as diverse as American rock band Twenty One Pilots, iconic French pop star Stromae, and even K-pop boy band Stray Kids. And that’s not even counting everyone else in a lineup that has produced over 20 singles for the show.
Consider the lizards
In addition to elevating League of Legends into the public consciousness for people who don't know a lane from a jungle, helping to break the video game adaptation curse, and just being a really good show, Arcane has also brought Imagine Dragons' fandom back into fashion. Okay, that's a bit harsh, but it's fair to say that the band has certainly gotten a big boost from being on the show, and while some of these stars aren't hoping it will rub off on them, they at least see the potential to produce new singles that will be heard around the world.
