Fans of Handheld Retro Gaming Devices are doing really well this year, aren't they? We're just halfway through 2024, and we're already up to our necks in awesome handheld consoles to replay the classics on. Now get ready to make room on the shelf for another one, because Retroid just released a trailer for the Pocket Mini.
The Retroid Pocket Mini-Trailer appears online
The Pocket Mini made its debut on the official Retroid YouTube channel with a brand new trailer. While it doesn't give away much information about what this new console will include, boy does it look beautiful. It looks like the analog sticks will have backlighting that will really make them stand out. Anyway, I'll shut up now and let you watch the video.
Cool, right? Thankfully, the folks at the Retroid X account have cleared up a few things about the screen, even if the trailer doesn't reveal any specs. We see a 4:3 3.7-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1280 x 960. And as the company clarifies in the replies, it is indeed a touchscreen. Perhaps a 3.7-inch screen is too small for some, but I can imagine it finding a home with someone who wants something truly “pocket-sized.”
How much will it cost and when will it be released? Retroid is keeping quiet on this. We'll have to wait for more details to come to light. In the meantime, you can check out our Retroid Pocket 4 Pro review to see what the company has been up to in the past. Our own Brady Snyder gave the device a glowing 8.5 out of 10, praising the quality of the hardware you get for the price.
