- Puzzle Maniac is an upcoming indie project for mobile devices
- Play over ten different puzzle varieties in your quest to save the princess
- Relatively simple, but not superficial: will this be the next local success story?
Puzzle, puzzle, puzzle. With all the puzzle games in the world, you'd think we'd be a society of geniuses by now. But it seems that for some people, all that intelligence goes into playing Candy Crush instead of, say, building a rocket. Still, there's no time like the present for someone else to jump into the arena, and today's topic is upcoming indie project Puzzle Maniac.
Puzzle Maniac is best described as simple, yet engaging. It's not the most polished looking game, nor is it the most in-depth. But what it lacks in those aspects it makes up for in passion and a sort of pseudo-retro feel of early 2000s puzzlers, although admittedly it too seems to have fallen into the shadows of some of the AI-generated art assets.
However, there is some good man-made content as well. With ten different puzzles to play and presumably many variations of those, there is plenty of variety. Puzzle Maniacs is currently in pre-alpha and the developer has reached out to us to show off the game, with a planned launch in November of this year.
I'm not so sure about that.
Of course, we wouldn't post this if we didn't have the opportunity to at least check it out. So if the trailer didn't get you hooked, be sure to check out the demo on the game's itch.io page, where you can download the APK and try it out for free. Who knows? Maybe in a few months we'll post a review of Puzzle Maniac's huge success.
In the meantime, if you're in need of some new games to try as the weekend approaches, why not check out the latest in our regular series on the five best new mobile games to try this week?
And if that ever runs out, there's always the list of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far) to check out!
