Just two weeks ago, we announced that the Pocket Gamer Awards would return for 2024, celebrating the best mobile games delivered over the past twelve months. Today we're opening nominations, allowing you to make sure your favorite picks get the attention they deserve. And this time we will announce the winners in person at an awards ceremony on December 6th. Wacky, I know.
It's been a great year for mobile. If you don't believe me, take a look at our list of the best games of the year and you'll find over 30 that scored 4/5 or higher. Luckily, we have multiple categories, so you don't need to pick just one thing that caught your attention. We celebrate everything from the best simulation to the greatest Roblox experience to your favorite PC or console port.
As always, preparing for the awards is a three-step process:
Step 1: Apply (Right Now)
As I said, applications are open now and will remain open until the end of October. To help your favorite games have the best chance of making the cut, head to this Google Form and make your voice heard, whether in one category or across several. The only problem is that your application must have been published between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024 – after all, we have to stop it somewhere.
Step 2: Voting
Once the month is over, we will open voting. To keep things following an easy-to-remember pattern, you'll have November to vote for your favorites in each category and convince your friends to do the same. Likewise, if you're a developer reading this (we know you're out there, I see you), ask your respective communities to get involved. They have proven crucial to some victories over the years.
Phase 3: Announcement of winners
Once everything is sorted out, someone better at math than me will add up the results. Subsequently, the winners will be revealed at a glorious awards ceremony in London on December 6. Of course we will also let you know on the site.
