Publisher PLAYISM and Orange blood developer Grayfax Software has announced a pixel art side-scrolling action game Nitro Express For PC (Steam). It will be launched in 2025.
Here's a review of the game via the Steam page:
■ Mysterious TOKYO
Welcome to Nitro City, Tokyo Special Administrative Region! The metropolis of Tokyo is a bit different from what we know, but the streets are just as nostalgic, or, depending on where you're from, as good as a place you've always wanted to visit.
■ About the game
Companions / Atypical Vehicles
Autonomous drones, affectionately called 'Comrades', are integrated into everyday life, but in police parlance they are called 'Atypical Vehicles'.
When they pose a significant threat to society, it's time for the Atypical Vehicle Security Squad (AVDS), a special unit of the Nitro City police force, to begin their mission to destroy all rogue vehicles!
Shoot them!
The good news: you can bring as much ammo as you want… and that includes grenades!
After it cools down a bit, the thunderbolt of destruction will return to your hands. Oh, how beautiful! Like magic!
Gadgets and Gizmos
Tired of traditional grenades? Why not try out EMPs, damaging radio-controlled drones, auto-firing turrets, flamethrowers, anti-tank missiles and more? There is sure to be at least one of the 12 different delicious gadgets that will catch your eye.
Understand Your Weapons
By maintaining a more stable firing position, your bullets will hit targets more accurately and do more damage.
While walking, you can hit some weapons like SMGs without caring because they're meant for close range anyway, but the bigger the weapon, the more your placement affects it. Stand together and be careful to use them properly.
Large Armored Targets
Oh no! We are under attack by tanks and helicopters! What can we do~?!
Rifles and SMGs don't have much effect on armored targets. You can stick with them completely and show your determination, but you can deal more damage to them with more powerful firearms and devices.
Radio Communication
Staged story dialogue takes place on the police radio, can be accessed at any time, and is completely optional. This means you can completely ignore them if you want.
Great for multiplayer games or for people who think the story parts of video games are basically the same as the instruction manual for an electric toothbrush.
