- Submit real world locations and turn them into Gloomsites
- Clean up the pollution and collect the rewards
- Customize your character and upgrade your skills
Northern Forge has announced an exciting new update to Orna: the GPS RPG, which invites you to do your part to save Mother Earth in your own way. Called Terra's Legacy, the eco-themed RPG will have you cleaning up the planet through the Gloomsite locations.
Specifically, you can take part in the Green Game Jam 2024 starting September 9th through a green-themed location-based gameplay. You’ll explore real-world locations during the Terra’s Legacy event by submitting your GPS data, which the developers will then turn into “Gloomsites” within the RPG.
Do your best to battle the Murk Monsters in these Gloomsites on planet Earth, then plant trees and grow Gaia Apples to revive these polluted areas. You can also use the collected Gaia Apples to upgrade your powers and customize your character.
“We are thrilled to participate in the Green Game Jam, offering Orna as a platform to raise awareness of environmental issues that affect us all,” says Josh O'Reilly, Marketing Mage at Northern Forge Studios. “Through Terra’s Legacy, we hope to inspire our players to contribute in some way to the real world, promoting awareness through action with a sense of responsibility and community that extends beyond the game.”
