Regular Pocket Gamer readers will know that we have launched a brand new website called PocketGamer.fun. It is a site we have created in collaboration with domain specialists Radix, with the intent of helping you quickly find your next favorite game.
So if you're looking for distilled advice, head over to the site, be greeted by dozens of awesome games, and download the ones you like. Alternatively, if you're happy to read a little more, we'll be posting articles like this regularly to update you on what we've added to the site in the last week or so.
Simulate a completely new life
Until a few years ago, I always thought simulators were boring. Why would I want to do something menial when I could be blasting bad guys to pieces? Then I played PowerWash Simulator and SnowRunner. Both made me appreciate again how surprisingly immersive simulators can be, and there’s a lot of variety within the genre – it’s not just about walking through mud or blasting cars with water. That variety exists on mobile too, so check out our latest picks at PocketGamer.fun if you’re looking to try out a virtual second job.
Check out some great Apple Arcade picks
Since its release in 2019, Apple Arcade has become the home of some excellent mobile games, and it’s time to celebrate. Of course, with hundreds of options in its ever-growing library, it’s impossible to highlight every great title on the subscription service. However, this is a good place to start if that huge number is a little daunting—choice paralysis is a big thing, after all. So if you’re new to Apple Arcade, our latest picks are a great place to start.
Game of the week
Spectral Pixel Hero
With October, and therefore Halloween, upon us, you may want to start getting into the spirit of the spooky season. If so, a great place to start is AppSir’s Spooky Pixel Hero, the latest entry in their horror platformer series that includes the excellent DERE Vengeance. While it’s probably not as good as its predecessor, it’s still worth your time, as Shah noted in his Spooky Pixel Hero review.
