A casual post-apocalyptic survival game I am the future On November 13th, tinyBuild publisher and developer Mandragora will exit Early Access and launch for PC via Steam.
I am the future first launched in Early Access on August 8, 2023.
Full review of the game version 1.0 update:
- The story – Finally, you will be able to complete the story. Discover what happened to Cosmopolis and our hero and make an important choice!
- New Roofs – Remember all those “coming soon” zones? Now you will be able to visit all the roofs you are interested in. Plus we've added some great new locations!
- Carnival – We know you've all been looking forward to visiting the Carnival since we last featured it, and it's finally available with this new update.
- New Friend – In the last update we introduced the relationship system with characters and of course we added a new character in version 1.0! Meet Bombshell Barbara – a woman with an explosive character who needs your help. Befriend him, help him solve his problems, and he will make sure that no one messes with you!
- Smart Tower Levels – We've added the third and fourth levels of the Smart Tower, meaning you can now travel to every corner of Cosmopolis and visit all previously locked locations! You'll also be able to unlock new upgrade modules including weather control module, solar generator and battery upgrades, and don't forget upgrades for minions, batteries and tools. Get ready to explore!
- Resource progression – As technology develops, so do production methods. We've added a third level for press with the Nano-Forge – a new structure where you can create completely new materials like techno-wood, tungsten, carbon and reactors! And, of course, finally, you can now fully upgrade all your tools to the max!
- Teleports – The roof was already big enough and now it has grown even bigger. Getting around has become a real problem, but we have a solution: teleportation. Place one here, another there, and voila! Mow, except maybe a game cam, no one will be able to keep up.
- Farming, Fishing and Culinary – New plants and crops have arrived: Creamy Beans and Noodle Grass. And you thought the cheese tree was the height of Cosmopolis agriculture? Now you can upgrade your rod to level three to catch four new delicious post-apocalyptic fish. And with all these new ingredients, we're excited to announce the fourth and final level of cuisine, with dozens of new recipes for you to try.
- Progress – We've added all the missing structural levels: level two and three for the cultivator and UV tower, level three for the biogenerator cryptosphere and anti-infection spray, and of course level four for the barricade.
- Recycling – A few words about our last addition: recycling. We've expanded in-game resource processing with scrapping options, including tier two and tier three, available on the worker's desk, farmer's desk, and synthesizer. All of your “spam” resources (we promise we don't mean them to be spam) are now integrated into the larger resource system. Pre-created resources can now also be broken down into their components.
Don't worry, we are not stopping here, we will continue to improve the game because we are already starting the next update for you. After all, who said version 1.0 is the end? We want to thank you for your continued trust and support as we develop this game. Early Access was a great experience for us, and we're glad we didn't disappoint by bringing the game to full release! Mark your calendars! On November 13, 2024, we will return to Cosmopolis in a completely new way! See you in the future!
