- Mixball is a brand new mix of fusion and suika games coming to Google Play today
- The best part? It's completely free!
- The coolest part? The solo indie team is probably making more than most developers its age.
Unfortunately, it's Friday and I have nothing left in the way of puzzle game jokes. But that's okay because today's topic is completely unrelated, as the self-developed Mixball is coming to Google Play today, completely free! And there's one very interesting thing about this game.
But first, what is Mixball? Mixball could best be described as a mix between a merge game and a suika game. You place balls on a grid, joining them together to score points. You can only join balls of the same type and size, so you have to carefully choose from a “deck” of three at a time.
This looks like a pretty decent game, in my estimation. So what's so impressive about it? Well, not only is this game from a solo indie developer, but it's also from one who's solo 17Yes, if you need to feel a little more inadequate, developer NattoXez is a one-man operation, someone who is not yet of legal drinking age.
Say suika
While Mixball is pretty basic by the glitzy standards we’re used to in a lot of mobile games, I’d say it feels pretty complete, especially for a completely free-to-play game. It’s packed with power-ups and two modes: Endless and Level, where you can see how long you’ll survive, or play through 50 levels that reset every seven days.
