If Microsoft can recall a recall, how many recalls can one recall? As it turns out, we're up to two times now. After initially delaying the controversial AI-powered recall feature for a testing phase in October, the software giant admitted that it still needs more time in the preparation phase and will instead arrive sometime around Christmas.

Microsoft's Copilot+ Recall feature is experiencing another delay
Copilot+ Recall had a rocky launch. It was intended to be a flagship feature for Microsoft's new AI-powered wave, promising users the ability to have your computer “remember” what you've done. This way, if you ask Copilot about the file you opened, the website you visited, or the person you spoke to before, it can “remember” it.
The problem was that Recall activated itself and stored all your data in a plain text database, causing a major privacy panic. Microsoft wanted to bring it back in October, but announced it in a statement The edgeit seems that this didn't work:
“We are committed to providing a safe and trustworthy experience with Recall. To ensure we deliver these important updates, we take additional time to refine the experience before previewing it with Windows Insiders. Originally scheduled for October, Recall will now be available in preview on Windows Insiders on Copilot Plus PCs in December.”
Luckily, Microsoft seems to have learned its lesson, as Recall will now be an opt-in feature and will allow users to delete any data stored about them that they don't like. But will anyone care if the bridge of first impressions has long since burned down and delays push the feature further and further back?
