Marvel Contest of Champions Continues Its 10th Anniversary Celebration with The Reckoning

  • Marvel Contest of Champions is turning ten and the celebrations are already underway
  • The last arc is in Act 9, Chapter 1 – The Judgment
  • In fittingly dramatic fashion there are new villains to face and new mysteries to solve.

Kabam’s flagship comic book game Marvel Contest of Champions continues its 10th anniversary celebrations with all-new storylines. This latest arc is Act 9, Chapter 1 with “The Reckoning.” And while information is scarce on the ground, a new trailer reveals some of the impressive threats you may face.

In the newly released trailer, which you can watch below, you can see Doctor Doom and Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic) in a rare team-up as they learn more about Ouroboros and the sinister Chronoserphant. This includes new, evil, and upgraded versions of classic characters for you to face, most notably the new boss X-23 (Orochi).

There are a ton of missions to tackle and a new system called SCOURGE that can best be described as something akin to XCOM’s threat level. Let it get out of hand and you’ll soon find yourself trying to tackle mission nodes filled with threats far beyond your capabilities, so keep your scourge in check or you’ll end up overwhelmed.

Consider this

Say what you will about Contest of Champions, but it’s decidedly authentically Marvel in the sense that there always seems to be another “must-see” event taking place somewhere in the multiverse. In this case, there’s the usual array of dark and evil versions of your favorite characters to spot. All that’s missing is the phrase “everything will change” or similar. But for a tenth anniversary, this one promises to be as big and dramatic as it can be on mobile.
