  • Relive the OVERLORD anime in Lord of Nazarick
  • Enjoy stunning graphics during turn-based battles
  • “The Devil in Love” Albedo is now available

In case you missed it, Lord of Nazarick, a turn-based RPG based on the OVERLORD anime, recently launched for iOS and Android courtesy of Crunchyroll and A PLUS, and has garnered well-deserved praise from critics and fans alike by OVERLORD.

Here we present the second part of our in-depth look at the features that made its launch a success. So, without further ado, here are more reasons why you should give Lord of Nazarick a try.

An exciting introduction

When starting Lord of Nazarick for the first time, players will be treated to a stunning cutscene of Momonga being summoned into battle. Teaming up with his loyal guardian Albedo, players are given control of Momonga in the game to quickly deal with his overpowered opponent.

It's a quick and easy introduction to the turn-based battle mechanics and dazzling attack animations of Lord of Nazarick, and from there you quickly move on to the main narrative. It's always nice when a game shows you what to expect right from the start, and Lord of Nazarick does exactly that.

Fans of the OVERLORD anime will be pleased to see that there's no shortage of key story moments from the first season – Lord of Nazarick cleverly blends them with the opening stages of the tutorial to keep the action moving. It also tones down some of the more – ahem – risqué aspects of the anime (OVERLORD fans who remember Momonga's first interaction with Albedo will understand) so that it doesn't get too awkward.

Spectacular images

It must be said that when it comes to graphics, the developers had a perfect starting point as OVERLORD is a truly beautiful anime. However, the same advantage can also spell disaster if the graphics don't meet the same high standards.

Thankfully, Lord of Nazarick meets these standards and more! Experiencing the anime's stunning visual design in a fully 3D setting is a treat that will make you want to explore every inch of the game's iconic locations.

Seeing fan-favorite characters faithfully recreated is sure to impress fans. But the most impressive visuals are reserved for the battles, especially when executing a character's final abilities which offer amazing dynamic effects and beautifully choreographed animations.

Fantastic new character additions

Given the breadth of content and characters in OVERLORD, a lot of weight has been given to the developer's promise to regularly launch new character and event updates.

The first signs look quite promising; Less than a week after launch, Lord of Nazarick kicks off its first limited-time summoning event with the introduction of a new Albedo variant: “Devil in Love” Albedo.

Albedo is undoubtedly the most beloved character in the OVERLORD series, captivating fans with his obsessive devotion to Momonga (a result of Momonga playfully altering his personality before Yggdrasil shut down) while wowing them with his demonic second form that It makes her cruel, cunning and attacking.

Belonging to the Ranger class and dealing high DMG on surrounding enemies, “Devil in Love” Albedo is a great asset to have in your team and a promising indicator of future characters to come.

Game variety

All RPGs thrive on their ability to offer variety, and Lord of Nazarick has more of it than most. Whenever you feel like taking a break from the main story mode, you can tackle roguelike dungeons, boss challenges, minigames, and more.

You can also form your own legendary alliance with friends, just like the famous Ainz Ooal suit. Alternatively, you can join an existing alliance and face powerful enemies as a team.

Of course, if you can join other players, you can also fight them. Lord of Navarick features a PvP mode that allows you to challenge other players with your strongest lineup, climb the leaderboard, and earn rewards for your victories.

We have to admit that we only enjoyed Lord of Nazarick for a short time, so there could be many more reasons we overlooked. But the only way to know for sure is to try Lord of Nazarick for yourself!

If you feel like giving it a try, you can find Lord of Nazarick available for free download on the App Store and Google Play.
