- Last Spartan: Glory over Madness is one of the titles to keep an eye on for us
- Mix Greek and Lovecraftian myths in a new roguelike deck-building game
- But while we've confirmed a release for PC and consoles, we've yet to hear any concrete news regarding a mobile release.
If there's one easy way to create a fresh new storyline for a game, it's to slam two things together. Plants vs. Zombies, for example, or in this case, Spartans vs. horrible, gurgling creatures from beyond. Yes, in Last Spartan: Glory over Madness, it's everyone's favorite muscle-bound hoplites vs. cosmic horrors from beyond as Ancient Greece collides with Lovecraft.
A new entry in the ever-growing deck-building roguelike genre, Last Spartan is set in a corrupted version of Ancient Greece, where familiar mythological elements have been twisted by the arrival of Lovecraftian creatures from beyond the grave. You play as the eponymous Last Spartan, forging alliances with the remnants of the Greek pantheon as you fight not only for your survival, but also to maintain your sanity.
We were able to get our hands on Last Spartan at Pocket Gamer Connects London in January, which is how we know it’s coming to mobile. But unfortunately, we don’t have full information on a release date or platforms at this point. However, Last Spartan is coming to PC in late 2024 and consoles in early 2025.
The Madness on Mobile Devices
It’s a shame we don’t have more to share about Last Spartan yet, but for our money, it’s definitely a film worth watching. With a grim, sanity-bending setting, coupled with the (ironically) familiar sight of apparitions from the stars with gibbering tentacles, Last Spartan offers an intriguing mix of the two contrasting concepts of gods and monsters.
