You can’t have a tower defense without a tower, or more than one. These form the backbone of your strategy and you are limited to only five. With the way they can evolve and the abilities they employ, towers can be quite dynamic despite being buildings.
Arcane Wizard
Since the first Kingdom Rush game, the Arcane Wizard tower has been a powerful part of any build. They are ranged attackers that wield powerful magic that can penetrate even the thickest armor. When fully powered up, not only do they look awesome, but these wizards can instantly kill most enemies and boost the power of their companion towers.
Eldritch Channeler
Vez'nan has spent time teaching magic to those who can withstand such power, resulting in the birth of the Eldritch Channelers. From these towers, these cloaked spellcasters slash through enemy ranks to devastating effect. Their attacks can be enhanced to bounce between multiple targets to slow them, while also gaining the power to turn targets into weak, helpless sheep.
Ballista Outpost
Goblins are back to take old ideas and make them more radical, hence the Ballista Outpost. Rivaling even the elves in range and accuracy, this tower’s longer loadout leads to increased damage. Goblins don’t stop there though, they’re also capable of throwing discard bombs and power arrows that can stop enemies in their tracks.
Royal Archers
There's a reason why Royal Archers are the backbone of your tower defense odyssey… because they're good. Even though they only work with bows and arrows, they can do so much with them that no enemy escapes their sight. They can also shoot armor-piercing arrows and call upon friendly eagles to claw and slash their enemies even more. One of the best towers in KR5 in my humble opinion.
Sentinels of the Dunes
Liniria is a diverse kingdom that extends all the way to the deserts of Hammerhold, where the Dune Sentinels train. These guys might as well be sand ninjas with their fantastic robes and giant star-shaped projectiles they throw. With such speed, their skills allow them to bounce their blades between multiple targets and set a buzzsaw trap right along the way.
Rocket launcher
The Dark Army is always looking to outdo itself in terms of offensive power, and that's how they developed the Rocket Gunners. This tower trains airborne soldiers who can blast away the air and ground with tough armor and gunfire. They can upgrade their projectiles to weaken enemy armor with each shot and launch missiles that can kill certain targets on contact.
Elven Stargazer
Archery isn't the only thing elves are known for, as Elven Stargazers can harness the power of space itself. With their mastery of the stars, this tower is made for crowd control with magical might. The skills these spellcasters have mastered can infuse enemies with explosive star projectiles and bend space to knock enemies back a few spots on the board.
Tri-cannon
The dwarves aren't the only ones to have mastered the forge, as the gunners behind the Tricannon have run into something unstable. This tower is built to hurl explosives across the field and hit groups of targets with large explosions. By overclocking the cannons, bombs can be fired rapidly across a wider area and leave scorched earth in their wake.
Dwarf Fire Breather
Dwarves will not be left behind in the arms race to improve the alliance, and so we have the Dwarven Firespitter. Yes, it is a flamethrower, and when enemies tend to mass, it is a perfect setup for the bad guys to burn. With some tweaking, the tower can fire a long-range firebomb to blast and burn, while also storing blasts of fire in the earth.
Paladins' Pact
Every second counts in the defense of the tower, which is why you’ll need to turn to the Paladin Covenant for help. These fighters are trained to hold the line while pushing back enemy forces and withstanding many a beating. Once they’ve gained enough experience, they can call upon a veteran to inspire the others and call upon the power within for invulnerable strength as the fight drags on.
Necromancer
While Necromancers can technically fix death, these guys do it to help the Alliance. This tower focuses on magic damage, but its true power comes from the ability to summon undead warriors. They will summon skeletons and eventually can learn to summon even stronger death knights and place totems to strengthen skeletons and weaken enemies.
Battle Bremasters
Depending on who you ask, drinking before going into battle can be a good thing, and that's certainly what the Battle Brewmasters think. These brawlers from the North bring their strength and their ale to stall the enemy's advance. They can call upon a powered-up brawler to join the fight and throw down a toxic batch of ale to choke the life out of enemy groups.
Dark Ghosts
Ghosts aren't easy to deal with on the battlefield, which makes it a good thing that Grim Wraiths are on your side. This tower brings these eerie specters onto the battlefield to harass enemies and withstand their attacks. With a little investment, the tower can strengthen the specters the longer they're in battle, and can launch explosively instead of vanishing.
Demon's Well
The Cult and its monstrous masters are such a threat that even demons are joining the Alliance, as can be seen in the Demon Pit. This lava pool disguised as a tower will constantly spawn fiery imps in battle. Although they are small, they are ferocious, sometimes joining forces with a larger imp, and all of them explode when killed.
Arboreal emissary
Forests are home to the Arboreals, beings of nature who wield ancient magic, and they will join the fight as Arboreal Emissaries. Planted as a tower wherever there is space, these entities use magic to land constant strikes and aid their allies. They can use magic to summon fairies to heal your units and thorns to ensnare enemies, damaging them at the same time.
Our Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance tier list ranks the best heroes and towers, and by using them carefully, you will repel evil enemies who want to invade your kingdom at war.
We have other lists you might like. For example, the Girl Wars tier list or a tier list for Seven Deadly Sins Idle, but there are others you might want to check out. Look around!
