Publishers Bushiroad Games and Arc System Works and developer Eighting were delayed Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Effect from the previously planned 2024 release window to 2025 to implement the rollback network code. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Switch and PC via Steam.
Here's the full message from the development team regarding the delay:
Release time Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Effect will now be changed to a 2025 release from the previously announced 2024 date.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this delay has caused to players who have been eagerly awaiting the game's release.
This delay is so that we can implement the fallback network code for release.
*The fallback network code is a system that reduces the feeling of connection delay when playing online matches.
Given the nature of fighting games, we made this decision out of concern that players may not be able to fully enjoy the game in a situation where some players may experience problems with online play.
A release date will be announced later.
Thank you for your understanding as we continue to work to deliver the best game possible.
