- Honor of Kings: World has revealed new gameplay after a short break
- It was unveiled at the recent Apple event in September
- The event also confirmed that Honor of Kings: World will be coming in 2025.
Although it’s been radio silent for a while, Honor of Kings: World has resurfaced on perhaps the biggest stage imaginable, with the debut of new gameplay at Apple’s tech showcase. As part of the gameplay segment of the upcoming iPhone 16 event, we got our first look at Honor of Kings: World since their last trailer almost a year ago.
Set in the, well, world of Honor of Kings, Honor of Kings: World takes players on an RPG adventure that spans the length and breadth of their setting. Set in a mythologized version of China, I assume it features the same mix of pseudo-historical characters and legendary individuals as the main game.
You can see the gameplay in the showcase below at around the hour and five minute mark. While it’s nothing too unusual compared to what we’ve seen before, we do get a sneaky confirmation that Honor of Kings: World is coming to iPhone in 2025—no word on other platforms, of course.
Game over?
One thing that I think has been overlooked in the recent long-running debate over Black Myth: Wukong is something I would tie into Honor of Kings: World, and that is that Chinese gamers seem to be craving a premium game without the freemium. And while Honor of Kings: World certainly looks like it will offer gorgeous graphics, I wonder if it can stand out now that player preferences have been piqued.
