- Hill Climb Racing 2, the hit title from Fingersoft, is ready to introduce the iconic game character Bomberman
- The character will be present as a costume along with other explosive elements
- The collaboration will take place from September 25th to October 2nd
Fingersoft’s hit racing game Hill Climb Racing 2 is ready to take things a step further with its first collaboration. This time it’s a collaboration with Konami that brings hit retro character Bomberman to the game, appearing as an exclusive costume along with some suitably explosive items from September 25th to October 2nd.
Those of you of a certain age probably won't remember Bomberman very well, but he was one of Konami's first mascots back in the arcade days. He even had a bit of a resurgence in popularity with the release of the Switch launcher, Super Bomberman R (which this collaboration is also promoting the sequel to), and now it looks like he's joining other Konami characters like Contra in making the leap to other games.
Aside from a short YouTube Shorts trailer, we don't have much more information about what the collaboration entails. Only that it will include a Bomberman suit and other features to match the explosive gameplay of the original. So you'll have to dive in and find out!
Running up that hill
There seems to have been a recent wave of mobile collaborations, even more than usual, and mostly from studios you wouldn't normally expect. Supercell, for example, recently announced the start of its new partnership with Transformers, and this latest move by Fingersoft breaks new ground. A more cynical person might say that the difficult times for the mobile gaming industry have prompted these deals as a way to keep fans interested.
