- MiHoYo is ready to celebrate the fourth anniversary of its flagship game Genshin Impact
- The new iteration of HoYoFair will feature fan creations from around the world
- It is the second showcase of its kind this year.
Look back at 2020 and you may have mixed emotions. After all, this was the time of Covid, when we were in new and uncharted territory. For many mobile game companies, these were the best days, before reality hit the door last year or so. And it was also the time when ARPG Genshin Impact hit storefronts, so to celebrate the success of their flagship game developer, MiHoYo is set to unveil a new iteration of HoYoFair on September 21st!
Not sure what a HoYoFair is? It’s basically a showcase of fan-made creations dedicated to the popular open-world game. It features musical performances, animations, and more, all produced by dedicated followers of the game. With over 300 creators and a two-hour run time, it’s more than double the length of the spring iteration of HoYoFair.
MiHoYo has a lot to be grateful for, especially considering that Genshin Impact accelerated the launch of its two Honkai sequels: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, both of which became huge hits in their own right.
Keep my HoYoFair
Whatever you say about gacha games, you can’t deny that they have a way of drawing people in. And while people like to joke about Genshin (myself included, at least with some of my friends who are gamers), it’s a huge success for a reason. That and I think there’s something beautiful about showcasing what fans have created on the world stage to hopefully give talented creators some serious exposure.
