Game of Sky Takes Empire-Building to the Clouds, Coming Soon

  • Game of Sky is the latest title from IGG.com
  • Takes strategy, hero combat, and creature recruitment gameplay into the stratosphere
  • Explore a world of floating islands, conquer and create your own kingdom

When it comes to strategy games, I think I've seen mobile devices try just about everything. I say Almost because now the upcoming strategy title Game of Sky is looking to take things into the stratosphere with its sky island theme. So, what does it offer and will it stand out?

First off, what is a sky island? Well, if you've ever played Skyward Sword, that's basically it. Floating islands have become a popular subject for strategy games lately, and IGG.com, the folks behind Lords Mobile, seem to be following suit with Game of Sky.

It promises the usual dose of resource-grabbing, domain-expanding action, along with the ability to tame and befriend dragons to fight alongside you (bet you can't guess where they got the “game of” part from). Game of Sky also looks to include turn-based strategy battles with recruitable heroes, a la AFK Journey.

Stand out or step aside?

Of course, IGG.com games are a bit of a Marmite situation. Some consider them to be lower than genre leaders like Supercell, but at the very least Game of Sky seems intent on offering a fresh new theme.

Promising the ability to not only recruit dragons but heroes as well, as well as modify and customize your airship, Game of Sky could stand out from the crowd when it releases around October 11 for iOS and Android.
