- You have until October 30th to enjoy the JRPG
- The sale of Lapis Lazuli and decks will also end
- All accounts will be deleted afterwards
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will be shutting down on October 30th, giving you two more months to enjoy the JRPG before it disappears forever. With the saturated state of the mobile market today, it’s not surprising that games would eventually close down, but it certainly makes things a little more shocking when even high-profile franchises like the beloved Final Fantasy IP are shutting down. It just goes to show that no IP is safe when it comes to fierce competition, not even one that’s been around for years.
In case you're unfamiliar with the title, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a retro-inspired title that has had its fair share of epic collaborations both within the Square Enix family and with other franchises. I was personally obsessed with it a long time ago, so it's sad to see it go after eight years.
With the closure announcement, you can expect the sale of Lapis to end as well, along with the shop bundles. Player accounts will be deleted after the app ends its service.
“Since the launch of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius on June 30, 2016, we have been committed to providing our players with an incredible and fun gameplay experience every day that surpasses the experience of the day before. However, we have come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue to maintain the app experience and, as a result, we have decided to end the app service,” says the official announcement.

In the meantime, if you want to enjoy the experience until then, you can check out Final Fantasy Brave Exvius on the App Store and Google Play. It is a free-to-play title with in-app purchases. You can also visit the official website to learn more about the end of service.
