Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust have released new information, videos and screenshots Fairy Tail 2 features an original game story that unlocks after clearing the main story.

The key to the unknown
After clarifying the main story, “Key to the Unknown” begins a new journey that covers the expanding world map. All four of its chapters can only be experienced through the original story of this game.
-Visit previously unreachable areas in the main story as the adventure expands! “Investigation of Golden Tales” happening in the West! You find a restaurant in the forest to get a hidden treasure. -Hidden somewhere in the forest of Fiore, a restaurant run by a “Monster Chef” is said to hide a certain “treasure” rumored to be hidden in the restaurant; but it seems only lovebirds can enter..? Find out the secrets of this restaurant that can only be revealed through this game.
— Monster Chef is a mysterious monster who runs a restaurant in the forest. He is a romantic who lives for love, but a strange incident confuses him. Can Lucy and her friends bring him back to his senses and reach the “treasure” in the restaurant?
—Drinking a drink that “deepens your feelings for the person you love,” Gildarts worries Kanan more than ever and searches for him from east to west. However, the seemingly mindless parental figure has deep feelings that only Gildarts and Cana can share… It's also a story that looks at each team member's feelings towards their 'parents'.
—After the battle, we head to Akane Beach… The Key to the Unknown arc, which takes place after the main story, involves an encounter with an unexpected character. Looks like he's not the only member of the Spriggan 12 to hit the beach…
A Moment With Your Friends
At bonfires in each area, episodes of Fairy Tail members are played in full. (Voices are in Japanese only.) New episodes are unlocked as you progress through the story or level up your characters.
Fairy Tail 2 It will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC via Steam on December 12th in Japan and December 13th worldwide. Due to the time difference, the PC version will be released in the west on December 11th.
