- Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Coming to iOS and Android
- It will hit stores on September 11th, allowing you to wield the power of Monsterkind.
- It's a kind of Pokémon-style monster collecting game.
Have you ever wanted to dominate evil? Have you ever wanted to wield the power of hordes of powerful unnatural beasts? No? Well, too bad! Because Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is coming to Steam, and more importantly, mobile. So if that doesn’t tempt you to wield power in the name of evil, we don’t know what will.
But seriously. Despite the name, in Dragon Quest Monsters you are not actually playing the role of an evil overlord. Instead, you will recruit, train, and upgrade your own army of monsters as the titular dark prince Psaro, with the goal of overthrowing your current title of Master of Monsterkind.
Longtime Dragon Quest fans will, of course, recognize the many iconic designs, first created by the now sadly deceased author Akira Toriyama. And now, instead of fighting them, you can bring these monsters to your side in battle!
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will be available for iOS and Android on September 11!
I go through the changes
It's not just the Pokémon-esque collectible aspect, as The Dark Prince will also feature changing seasons that alter the landscape as you explore the land of Nadira and its unique environments. As one of the first Dragon Quest Monsters games to come not only to PC but also mobile devices, I'm very curious to see how it holds up.
Although seeing all these monsters brings back bad memories of playing DQ as a kid, and how my usual tactic of trying to overcome them with brute force always backfired.
