The Google Pixel 9 series includes some of the latest and greatest smartphones on the market. So you might be wondering what the compatibility is with some of the best smartwatches or Samsung's new Smart Ring. We're happy to assure you that you don't need a Samsung phone to use their wearables. Although they are made by different companies, you can actually use a Samsung Watch or Galaxy Ring with a Google Pixel phone without any problem.

Google dwarfs Apple, Samsung and OnePlus in one small but crucial area.
This is how the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Ring work with Google Pixel
Although Google has its own Pixel Watch line, the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Ring also work with the Pixel phone. The latest Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 can be connected to any Android phone that runs Android 8 or higher and has more than 1.5GB of RAM. The Pixel 9 runs Android 15 and most older Pixel phones run Android 8, so you shouldn't have any problems regardless. However, keep in mind that the older Samsung watches like Gear, Gear 2, Gear 3 and Gear Fit will not work properly with your Pixel.
The Galaxy Ring is compatible with any smartphone running Android 11 or later, so you can easily use it with any relatively new Pixel phone.

It’s the backend that matters
You can connect your Google Pixel to your Samsung Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring using the Galaxy Wearable app, which you can download from the Google Play Store. Once the app is downloaded to your device, follow the steps in the Galaxy Wearable app to set up the device of your choice.
However, keep in mind that not all of your Galaxy Watch's features may be available with a Google Pixel phone. For example, Samsung mentions in its support documentation that secure features like Samsung Pay are only available with Samsung phones. If you're interested in the Galaxy Watch's ECG and blood pressure features, those don't work out of the box with a Pixel either, but there's a workaround for older Galaxy Watches.
Similar comments can be made about the Galaxy Ring. Features like Energy Score, Galaxy AI, Find My Ring, and gesture controls are locked on Samsung phones, but Ring's core features are available on other Android phones.
To recap: The Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring work best with a Samsung phone, but they also work fine with the Pixel.

Google Pixel Watch 3
The Google Pixel Watch 3 is Google's latest and greatest smartwatch and features a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1, 2GB of RAM, Wear OS 5 and long battery life. It comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, and features smaller frames than ever before.
Of course, Google makes watches
However, if you own a Pixel phone, we recommend you consider the Pixel Watch 3, especially if you want a non-restrictive experience. Google's Pixel Watch 3 has almost all of the same features as the Galaxy Watch, including sleep tracking, workouts, multiple heart rate sensors, and more.
