Goddess of Victory: Nikke is once again set to cross paths with a fan-favorite series, as characters and content from the classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion are set to make their way to the game. The event looks to involve not only appearances from key characters from the series, but also some unexpected threats from beyond the grave.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is a series set after an apocalyptic event called Second Impact, in which strange semi-divine beings called angels come to Earth. To combat those still residing on our planet, humans use giant mecha called Evangelions, piloted by normal people, to fight against them. Pretty standard mecha stuff (or so you might think).
We don't have a specific date for when the collaboration will hit Nikke, but we're expecting something in the next month or so. As for confirmed appearances, we know that Asuka, Rei, Mari, and Misato will appear in some form (though not necessarily all as playable characters).
She's an angel!
It may seem strange to many people that Neon Genesis Evangelion remains so popular abroad. Especially considering that many other series that have had huge popularity in the West (such as the Shonen Jump series Bleach) are, on the contrary, much more niche in their home country.
However, for fans of the series and Nikke alike, the crossover promises to bring new allies and new threats to face.
