- Brawl Stars is ready to do a crossover with Spongebob Squarepants
- John Cena stars in the initial trailer to showcase the collaboration
- The takeover starts today and will last until October 2nd!
Brawl Stars is set to join Supercell's latest series of collaborations, this time with the hit cartoon franchise Spongebob Squarepants. They're also seeing a brief but important collaboration with a spokesperson for the aforementioned crossover, and his name is John Cena.
Yes, Cena-tion fans will be happy to see the WWE Superstar appear in the latest Brawl Stars trailer as he inadvertently drops his phone into the ocean and sends it crashing into SpongeBob’s hometown of Bikini Bottom. Quickly, it turns into an all-out underwater war with a Brawl Stars twist.
The collaboration is set to become a full game takeover, starting today and running through October 2, as the popular brawlers get a complete SpongeBob SquarePants makeover. There’s also a new Bikini Bottom-themed game map, special power-ups, game modes, and more coming to Brawl Stars!
The Professor of Brawl
Wrestling jokes aside, it seems like my first instinct when Squad Busters teased a Transformers collaboration was correct, that Supercell is kicking off some sort of crossover. Starting earlier this year with Erling Haaland, Supercell’s games, which have usually shied away from crossovers or collaborations, have suddenly opened up. It could be that Supercell is finally realizing the potential that these kinds of game collaborations bring. It just raises the question of what could happen next.
